hid light install

Postby kaoticdemize » Fri Mar 06, 2009 6:56 pm

Anyone in san jose who knows how to install hid lights? I took a look at it and anytime ive tried to do anything to my car something gets fucked up so i would rather not again especially when it involves wiring. ( please don't tell me ravi since ive tried getting a hold of him for a while now with no responses :) )

it is INCREDIBLY easy to do

1. take out stock bulb
2. install hid bulb
3. plug harness from ballast into HID bulb
4. plug the harness from ballast into stock connector
5. turn on lights and enjoy!
I drop off but i also deliver!

nope just follow tony's instructions.

its like replacing your bulb, but you attach the hid ballast between the bulb and the oem wiring connector.

if you bought the ddm tuning ones, being that they have life time waranty, if it becomes a serious issue to you, you can always have it replaced.

its pretty common for one to not fire or not warm up at the same speed as the other. but that doesn't mean that it is in good working order. check the connectors and make sure they are clean. if it starts degrading and doesn't light up even if you turn it on and off. then there could be something bad with the ballast.

thank god for ddm tunings lifetime warranty, i don't see why people would buy HID's anywhere else

I also bought DDM tunings slim-kit 35 watts and have a problem with one not turning on right away.
I have to turn it on and off sometimes up to 30 times before it kicks in. So I swapped the bulb with a new one from DDM
(they actually messed up and sent me 4300k when I orginally had 5000k) but it seems to work 95% of the time now.
Still occasionally won't fire up first time. Is this common with all HID kits or just the DDM kit? Because I'm kind of getting tired of always checking if my headlights are on before I start driving...

check the wiring in there, i had em on my Z with no problems whatsoever. Kevin still has em on the car, and they seemed fine during that one meet.
